Little Juju is a networked system of wearables which collects the emotional states of its users, processes it through a filter of AI and ancestral divination, and converts the energy into a meditation of pulsing light which is displayed on all necklaces across the system.
EXHIBITED AT TRESTLE PROJECTS, NYC 2017

Each wearable is outfitted with handmade GSR sensors customized for their unique forms. These collect human touch as an input, which is instantaneously uploaded to the system’s database in the cloud, thus imbuing both the individual pieces and the entire system with the spirit of each user. In the cloud, the user’s energy is interpreted by the scientific—an undisclosed algorithm—and the ethereal—the influence of all of those who have worn the Juju. Combined, they respond to the user’s touch by prescribing an omniscient blessing and meditation for the entire community in the form of a pulsing light which is disseminated across all devices.
In this way, the individual devices and the entire set embody the energy of their community, driving deeper personal connections with the devices. The emotional collection with both the wearables and the spirit attached to them draws a contrast to our relationship with manufactured goods, especially consumer electronics whose lifespan is governed by planned obsolescence.
